There is a slight bug in the SQL... It currently doesn't check whether the TODO item is complete or not. I'll work out what needs fixing and put up a new piece of SQL later.

It's far better to point out why it's not good and how it can be improved. Microsoft put a lot of effort into UI testing and design and if you look at the difference between Win 3.1 and Win XP era windows, it's a much easier product to use.

And why in some cases the likes of Apple have taken out patents to stop the most effective method of implementing trivial UI features in platforms like Android. Android has it's clunky bits..but nothing much is stopping that getting a lot better.

What holds Linux back is (1) installed base of Windows and (2) perception of difficulty to use by the public and (3) marketing spend. This last one is why Apple have a business. If Apple spent the same amount of time marketing as Linux has over the years, it would be a business that someone runs out of a office unit somewhere. I'm not convinced they've got a unbeatable technical product when you factor in the hype and Jobsian bullshit.

And one thing that Apple is bad at is competition. Google make masses of mistakes which they are not frightened of admiting to - but they are good at evolving quickly. Look at Chrome and Android.

Google started Android with wanting to extend their key market objectives to phones. They certainly did that from what I understand. But they didn't really see the potential for other applications to run fast on phones or a browser - like games. The WebGL stuff has been pretty much on the backburner compared to social apps and networking.

If Google recognise that games are an important part of the Android user experience, they'll do what Microsoft did with XNA/XDK where running fast native code is very important and that will make games a lot better. After all, the hardware in most cases can run games better than the equivalent iPhone being more powerful - it's just a software issue that needs to be addressed.

The issue isn't whether UI/UX is far better than Android now, but that the speed of evolution is that Android will get to the point where people will look at iOS and Android and there will be probably little difference but the price. And Apple will probably have to slash prices or have it's lunch eaten when people who don't care about an Apple badge decide they can a phone that does everything a iPhone can but at a third of the cost.

This is one of the reasons that I bought an Android phone. It's not that it's got a logo, marketing or some suits behind it - I care not for such things. What grabbed me is how someone showed me how I could be writing code on it in five minutes with a clapped out PC to all the interesting things I wanted on a phone. And they didn't really care whether XYZ said that it didn't suit their corporate image, that it couldn't have scripting engines or it would need approval through their software shop assault course to deploy. That is what I like about it :)

As an additional note, if the LogCat window isn't visible in Eclipse, it can be found under the "Window -> Show View -> Other" menu option.

LogCat is fairly essential for debugging applications that crash as the Eclipse debugger doesn't catch them. You may also have to press the "continue" button in the debugger to make the application crash properly to see a useful stack trace in LogCat.

Damn, forgot '' will be trimmed :D

I was saying, I think the HTML5 element 'canvas' will prevail. To expand, I don't think Flash will make it to HTML6.
